About Habitar
Habitar was established to support clients making significant property decisions in unfamiliar systems — where clarity, discretion, and informed judgement matter as much as technical knowledge.
The practice is led by a UK-registered architect with extensive experience advising high-net-worth individuals, international buyers and global developers, often at the earliest and most consequential stages of a project.
A background in client-side advisory
The founder of Habitar has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with much of this spent in Central London, working on numerous historic and prestigious buildings. This work has included early-stage assessment and strategic advice for private clients considering high-value residential projects in areas such as Mayfair, Belgravia, and Chelsea - often involving complex buildings, heritage constraints, and significant financial exposure.
The focus of this work has not been design in isolation, but helping clients understand risk, feasibility, and decision pathways before moving forward. Once a direction is established we also assist in assembling appropriate teams and are used to coordinating with multiple consultants to ensure delivery of the project.
This same advisory mindset now underpins Habitar’s work internationally.

Why Habitar exists
It is clear that many of the challenges faced by overseas property clients are not design problems.
They are problems of:
-
timing
-
sequencing
-
assumption
-
fragmented responsibility
-
lack of a trusted point of reference
Habitar was created to address that gap.
Rather than replacing local professionals, the practice focuses on client-side guidance and continuity — helping clients make informed decisions, appoint the right people, and move forward with confidence.
How we work with clients
Habitar works with a limited number of clients at any one time, allowing for genuine involvement and continuity across complex projects.
Our role is advisory and client-side throughout:
-
we help shape early thinking
-
provide clarity before commitments are made
-
support decision-making as projects evolve
-
remain a consistent point of reference across long, unfamiliar processes
This approach is particularly valued by clients who are:
-
investing significant capital
-
working across borders
-
balancing property projects with wider personal or professional commitments
A measured, independent role
Habitar does not operate as a volume practice.
We are deliberately selective, independent, and focused on quality of involvement rather than scale.
Our work is grounded in:
-
real projects
-
real systems
-
and the practical realities of how complex property decisions are made
This allows us to provide advice that is calm, proportionate, and genuinely useful — not theoretical.
In summary
Habitar brings together:
-
senior architectural training
-
extensive client-side advisory experience
-
familiarity with high-value, high-risk property decisions
-
and an international perspective grounded in UK professional standards
The result is a practice designed to support clients who value clarity, discretion, and informed judgement when navigating property projects abroad.
